War Machine, originally released in 2010, marked Tank's first studio album in eight years. Founding member, bassist, and vocalist Algy Ward, who sadly passed away in 2023 at the age of 63, had left the band two years earlier. He was replaced by former Rainbow singer Doogie White. The core of the revitalized Tank consisted of guitarists Mick Tucker and Cliff Evans, both of whom had been members of the band since the mid-1980s. On the follow-up album, War Nation (2012), they were joined by bassist Chris Dale, who had previously played with Bruce Dickinson's solo band, and drummer Steve Hopgood, a long-time musical partner of Cliff Evans in Paul Di'Anno's Killers. For this definitive High Roller Records reissue, War Nation has been partially re-recorded and remixed by guitarist Mick Tucker. In addition, the release includes two bonus tracks: an early demo version of "War Machine" and an acoustic rendition of "W.M.L.A.," originally featured on Honour & Blood (1984).
